THE THIEVES BANQUET

This speculative musical was designed for the Young Vic. The narrative was inspired by four songs by Akala: The Thieves Banquet, The Thieves Banquet Part 2, Pissed Off and Peace. The Devil, seeking to retire, holds a banquet at his palace in order to find the most evil person on Earth to take over.

FACE TO FACE

A group of eight designers collaborated and devised this performance based on the themes of disguise and deception in Twelfth Night. Olivia hosts a fundraiser for the shipwreck on the coast of Illyria. The characters communicate and hide behind online personas until the Wi-Fi goes down during a power cut, forcing them to communicate face to face about their true feelings.

STAGING THE REAL SYMPOSIUM

at The National Theatre

Inspired by Jocelyn Herbert’s design for Savages, my group discussed our identities and the ‘tribes’ we are a part of. I created a sand timer to represent the generational shifts in my family’s culture from Jamaican to British as more of us are being born and raised here.

HEAVY RAIN

This speculative design is based on the video game, Heavy Rain. The Origami Killer traps his victims in a warehouse drain, leaving them to drown in rain water.
