Staging the Real Symposium

While at university, myself and some coursemates took part in the Staging the Real symposium at the National Theatre. Inspired by Jocelyn Herbert’s design for Savages, we discussed identity and the ‘tribes’ we are a part of. I chose to use a sand timer to represent the generational shifts in my family’s culture from Jamaican to British as more of us are being born and raised here.
