Windrush 2021 Emblem

The theme for Windrush Day 2021 was I Am Here. The idea was to create something which represents respect, collective spirit and unity within a community. The phrase ‘go back home’ is something the Windrush generation and many people of colour have repeatedly heard regardless of whether or not Britain is their home. The reason I am here is because of the resilience and tenacity my grandparents embodied when moving from Jamaica to London. This emblem is in honour of the resilience and tenacity embodied by the entire Windrush generation..
